VerificationWhen you request
this valuable service, one of our senior engineers will test your
existing network to verify its performance to its specified and
required standards. If required we will then carry out the necessary
work to bring everything to your requirements. Alternatively, this
verification will give you the data that the original installer will
need to correct any problems.
- We test and certify every cable
run to the appropriate performance standard for the installed
cable.
- We verify that every cable run
is qualified for its intended performance.
- We visually inspect all cable
runs and hardware to ensure that they follow building and
electrical codes and (if this was a part of the original
installation) BICSI
standards.
- We provide and explain our
documentation to you. Each cable run will have a pass or fail
certification. In the case of a fail we will present a plain
English interpretation of the results.
- We will, if you wish, advise on
and carry out the work that is needed to correct any cable runs
that do not meet their performance standards or intended uses.
Alternatively, you can provide the original installer with our
documentation to help them to correct any problems.
The most common issues that we have
found while carrying out this work have included:
During Cable Certification:
- Cable runs too close to
interference sources.
- Incorrect cable terminations.
- Damaged cables.
During Visual Inspection:
- Incorrect Grounding
- Building and Electrical Code
violations - most commonly unsupported cables and incorrect
firestopping.
